Rosslyn Park 1st XV 10 – 17 Cobham 1st XV
11th November 2007
Tries: Galuccio (2), Manning
Conversion: Mitchell
Cobham twice come from behind to win a tight encounter against a strong Rosslyn Park side.
Rosslyn Park went ahead with a well taken try mid-way through the first half after a sustained period of Cobham pressure. James Manning levelled the scores just before half time. Immediately after the break Matias Galuccio scored an individually brilliant try to give Cobham the lead, unfortunately Park came straight back and with a converted try went ahead at 12-10.
Cobham were now under severe pressure within their own 22 but managed to break out and with a fine sweeping move involving virtually the whole team Matias again touched down. James Mitchell converted to give Cobham the lead at 17-12. Cobham held on grimly at the end but Park couldn’t break through their determined defence.
Backs coach David Rowling said afterwards “ Against a large pack it was a very committed display by Cobham who were just about worthy winners”.
